NSOI: Philip Glass Explored with Russell Davies & Namekawa
Dublin City, Co. Dublin
6 June 2026
Two of Philip Glass’s most distinguished champions – conductor Dennis Russell Davies and pianist Maki Namekawa in concert at the National Concert Hall on Saturday 6 June 2026.

They return to conclude National Symphony Orchestra Ireland’s focus on one of the most unique and distinctive voices in American contemporary music with three Irish premieres.

Glass has praised Dennis Russell Davies as ‘one of the world’s most inventive conductors’. He reunites with Glass specialist and muse, Maki Namekawa, to reprise their acclaimed 2023 world premiere of the Mishima Piano Concerto for its Irish debut. Crafted from the haunting soundtrack to the 1985 film, it retains its hypnotic, cinematic qualities while giving the piano a central, virtuosic role.

Tickets €15, €25, €29, €34.50, €39
