The Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed city park in Europe, consisting of 1,752 acres, located in Dublin 8, County Dublin. It is home to Áras an Uachtaráin, the residence of the President of Ireland, Dublin Zoo, fallow deer, Victorian gardens, Ashtown Castle, Farmleigh House and much more.

The Phoenix Park Visitor Centre has lively and entertaining exhibitions on the history and wildlife of the Park, from 3500 B.C. to the present day. Temporary exhibitions are also regularly on display in the centre. Information and tickets for a variety of free tours are also available here, along with the Phoenix Café.

Free Tours of key historic sites within and near the Phoenix Park include: the Visitor Centre, Ashtown Castle, the Magazine Fort, Áras an Uachtaráin, Grangegorman Military Cemetery and Arbour Hill Cemetery.

Adjoining the Visitor Centre is the fully restored Ashtown Castle, a medieval tower house that may date back to the 15th century and is open to the public. The castle was once incorporated into an 18th century mansion and was rediscovered when this building was demolished. The universal access playground is located here.

The beautifully maintained Victorian walled kitchen gardens, The People's Gardens, are a popular feature. On the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 the gardeners give a talk to the public.

Phoenix Park also hosts many events like Food and Craft Markets, festivals, music, etc. Bicycles can be hired at the Parkgate St entrance . Guided Cycle tours are available and you can even try a guided Segway tour. Orienteering sheets are available at the Visitor centre.

Facilities available include, Audio-visual presentation, exhibitions, toilets, disabled toilets, car/coach park and restaurant/picnic tables, as well as free parking. Access for people with disabilities to the ground floor.
