Designed by the internationally renowned Spanish architect Calatrava, the bridge evokes the shape of the Irish harp with its cable stays structure.
The bold shape of the bridge dominates the view of the River Liffey towards Dublin Port, and is 120m long and 48m high.
Facilitating vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle access across the river, the bridge also rotates horizontally through 90 degrees allowing ships to pass through, providing a gateway between the city and the sea.
