Talented violinist Sarah Brazil, about to turn just 16 years of age, performs a range of 19th century Romantic music for this RTÉ Concert Orchestra Summer Lunchtime concert, with Killian Farrell, conductor.
Under Dublin-born conductor Killian Farrell, Generalmusikdirector of the Staatstheater Meiningen, Brazil will play two Saint-Saëns violin pieces, the lively Havanaise inspired by the soul and passion of Cuban music, and dazzling Introduction and Rondo. The vibrant and swelling Vltava from Má Vlast, performed by the full orchestra, will bring Bedrǐch Smetana’s memories of old Bohemia and its flowing landscape to life.
