The Guinness Choir is celebrating its 75th Anniversary with the world premiere of a commissioned piece, “The City of Our Dreaming', a poem by Paula Meehan, music by Seán Doherty. Celebrate with the Guinness Choir, 7th May, St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
The Guinness Choir is thrilled to announce our upcoming 75th Anniversary Concert, “The City of Our Dreaming'. To celebrate this great city, our Liberties’ origins, and our musical tradition, we commissioned an original poem by Paula Meehan, and music composed by Seán Doherty.
The concert, on Thursday, 7th May, in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, will be the world premiere of this unique composition and a highlight of the Culture Date with Dublin 8 Festival. It will also feature pieces from our repertoire, including Bach, Fauré, Stanford, and Verdi, directed by Ciaran Kelly and featuring Leanne Fitzgerald, David Leigh, and Bren Berry.
