Windmill Lane Recording Studios visitor experience is located in Ringsend in Dublin and is where various artists from the Rolling Stones to U2 have created music.

From 1978, Windmill Lane Recording Studios have been host and home to many of the best known names in the music industry including: Kate Bush, Elvis Costello, The Cranberries, Depeche Mode, Glen Hansard, Hozier, Lady Gaga, Norah Jones, Metallica, New Order, Damien Rice, Sinead O’Connor, Snow Patrol, Spice Girls, Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran and U2.

The visitor experience is an unprecedented opportunity to step beyond the studio’s Art Deco façade. During the one-hour tour visitors receive an exclusive and immersive experience. A balance of technology, audio-visual media and intuitive storytelling delivers a personal overview of what it’s like to create and record some of the world’s most celebrated music. Engage and enjoy authentic comtemporary cultural heritage and history.

Windmill Lane Recording Studios have created a fun and diverse experience for visitors. You can learn about the 40 year history of the studios, the evolution of recording, tricks of the trade and mixing. Experience a band recording as well as participate in a celebratory grand finale. There will be a few surprises along the way to inform, inspire and tickle the senses.

In addition, visitors receive is a historical summary of the Ringsend area from Oliver Cromwell to the 1916 Easter Rising, from the building’s involvement in the old Dublin tramlines to the present.

The studios will always be an artist sanctuary, so it is essential to book tours in advance online.
