Bow Waves - Galway Sailing & Powerboat School
More from visitors like you
Bow Waves is Galway's Sailing and Powerboat School which offers an unrivalled choice of water sports lessons and fun activities on the water.

Established in 1996, Bow Waves, Galway, offer a range of water sports training, days out, week and weekend excursions for groups and individuals from ages eight to 80 plus. Choose from kayaking, power boating, dinghy sailing, wake boarding, water skiing, jet skiing, ringo rides, yacht and keel boat sailing. With experienced staff, under the supervision of school founder and principal, Finbarr O'Regan, Bow Waves will guarantee you a safe and memorable time with them. Bow Waves are fully certified by the Irish Sailing Association, Department of Transport and The Royal Yachting Association.

Bow Waves operates in Galway Bay and, with its unspoiled scenery and natural beauty it is a natural sailing area where mariners have sailed for centuries. If you want to have a relaxing sail on their 37' luxury yacht 'Suil Eile', or an adrenaline- filled ride in one of their powerboats, Bow Waves has it all. Their excursions will take you sailing all around the bay, be it for a pint in Doolin, a barbeque on Hare Island, sunbathing in Salthill or taking in the sights and sounds of the Aran Islands. They pride themselves in flexible and highly- personalised service.

Bow Waves also operates out of Lough Atalia, Galway City, for beginners and people who are not the most confident to be out on the water. The lough, which is fully surrounded by land, is a sheltered light wind shallow water area where it makes a beginners' day fun and calmer.

Night classes are now on offer at Bow Waves in yachtmaster navigation, day skipper navigation, SRC VHF marine radio, RYA diesel engine, radar courses, first aid and sea survival.
