Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a hot bath of Atlantic seawater infused with hand harvested seaweed and enjoy one of Ireland's oldest spa treatments at the Connemara Seaweed Baths in Clifden, County Galway.

Connemara Seaweed Baths in County Galway are situated overlooking the magnificent Clifden Bay. Ireland has a traditional wellbeing treatment which dates back hundreds of years and has been used to cure ailments from arthritis, rheumatism, eczema, psoriasis to detoxification of the body. Seaweed is full of essential minerals, which when soaked in boiling seawater, allows all the minerals and goodness to be absorbed by the body. It is also an invaluable aid to promote a good night's sleep and destress the mind.

Firstly, bathers sit in their communal steam room to open the pores so the seaweeds nutrients can be absorbed. Secondly, bathers take a private bath of hot Atlantic seawater in which fresh hand harvested seaweed has been infusing while in the steam room. Visitors then lie back, relax and let their body absorb the essential nutrients while listening to ambient music. Finally, when visitors are finished bathing, they can take the plunge into the outdoor salt water plunge pool that closes the pores and locks in the nutrients.

Connemara Seaweed Baths provide all towels and drinking water. They also have a choice of single, double or triple rooms. Bookings can be taken for private parties or groups. Connemara Seaweed Baths also offer a thermal suite experience, a place where you can come to relax and rejuvenate in the traditional sauna, steam room, outdoor plunge pool and an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking Clifden Harbour.

Connemara is a popular area for outdoor pursuits from walking, mountain climbing, hiking and cycling to diving and boating. Connemara Seaweed Baths have become a haven for hillwalkers, tired from their day on the mountains. Seawater bathing helps to reinvigorate tired and aching muscles, warms the body and relaxes the mind. What better way to finish off the day and ease those tired muscles than with a visit to Connemara Seaweed Baths.
