Visitors to and from Ireland can contact East Galway Family History Society to find out about their long lost ancestors at Woodford Heritage Centre in County Galway.

Staff at the centre offer tailored family research services, provide expert advice and endeavour to connect visitors to their ancestor's townland or parish. The East Galway Family History Society based in Woodford Village, County Galway have been involved in family history research and heritage activities for over 25 years.

East Galway Family History Society have mapped and documented historical ruins in East Galway, published books and other material. They have also facilitated family gatherings, seminars and lectures. Local history publications are for sale at the centre. The centre provides a genealogical research service to national and international clients whilst promoting tourism, business, and heritage awareness in the area.

For anyone interested in nature, Woodford boasts three types of ancient oak forests that still exist today at Derrycrag, Rosturra, and Pollnaknockaun. Visitors to these forests can immerse themselves in their prehistoric beauty, explore deserted moors, calm lakes and rolling hills.
