Killary Fjord Water Taxi provides a speedboat transfer in County Galway to the start, or from the end of the Famine Trail Walk. Experience the fjord from the water, you may stop and check a lobster pot or mussel line along the way.

Enjoy the Killary Fjord from the water with Killary Fjord Water Taxi Speedboat Transfers, in County Galway.

During your boat transfer you will pass working mussel boats and mussel farm lines where you may stop to have a look at how they are grown and harvested. You may even be lucky enough to see some Fjord natives, the dolphins.

The Famine Trail follows the contours of the Killary Fjord passing old cottages, abandoned 'lazy beds' and Ireland's only Fjord. It is approximately 10km between Rosroe and Killary Adventure Centre, where free parking is available.

Option 1: Boat transfer from Killary to Rosroe pier and walk the famine trail. Leaves Killary Adventure pier at 13:00.

Option 2: Walk the famine trail and boat transfer from Rosroe to Killary. Leaves Rosroe pier 13:30.

The boat trip is approximately 20 minutes. It takes on average of two to three hours to walk the famine trail depending on your level of fitness.

This experience is available from the 1st of June to the 31st of August.
