Loughrea Lake is located in Loughrea, County Galway. It is a large limestone lake with an inland bathing area, Loughrea is popular with locals and visitors alike. From Galway City take the N6 east for about 48kms to the town of Loughrea.
Loughrea Lake in County Galway is of international importance for water fowl and is a designated Natural Heritage Area or NHA, as well as having been awarded the Blue Flag award.
The beach is a great place to swim, fish and relax. There are facilities on site including, changing rooms, toilets, showers and picnic areas. The beach is lifeguarded during the summer months. More information can be found on the notice boards located at the beach.
