Located on the square in the busy town of Mountbellew, County Galway, The Malt House boasts fabulous comfortable décor and a unique history. A extensive and tasty food offering is available daily.

With its natural stone finish at the front of the building and its two open fires, The Malt House is a friendly and welcoming place. Superb food is served 7 days a week. Lunch is served from 12.30pm - 4.00pm daily with an extensive A la Carte menu available 4.00pm to 9.00pm. Sunday lunch is served until 5pm. All our produce is sourced and supplied locally.

The Malt House looks to entertain its customers also. There is live music in the bar every Saturday night while a Night Club looks after late Saturday night revellers. We are a very well known establishment, some might compare us to the local community centre. We have a very successful food trade and a good local bar trade. Most of our employees are local and very friendly so are a great source of local knowledge. We are very family friendly and will try and meet the needs and expectations of everyone from a cup of coffee, a pint by an open fire, a quick lunch, healthy dinner, business meeting or a romantic dinner with your loved one.

We cater for the needs of everyone!

We also have a function room which we use for weddings, funerals, confirmations, christenings, parties etc. We can seat up to 120 people in our function room. We also serve a selection of sandwiches all day. We take bookings every day except Sunday - on Sunday it is strictly first come first served.

The birthplace of Senior Galway and County footballer Joe Bergin, the establishment has strong links with the GAA. A famous stage coach stop and hostelry well over a century ago, it was the first singing pub in Galway to be granted a dance licence back in 1969.

We are an award winning pub - • Black and White Co. Galway Pub of the Year 2004 • Irish Pubs of Distinction 2005 and 2006 • Licensing World Bar Awards 2008 • Local Bar Award Finalist
