The festival celebrates and highlights the importance and wonder of the dark skies in the Gold Tier Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve along the Skellig Coast in South Kerry. Astronomy-themed walks, talks, workshops as well as stargazing and music!

Aindrias de Staic, astronomy talks by Prof Paul Callanan (UCC), Askea Calnan (Kerry College) and Ita Ryan, astrophotography with Davy Patton and Goran Lončar, nature by night with Stephen Cotter, Alan Balfe of Tralee Bay Wetlands and Lorcan O'Donnell (Kerry College), archaeo-astronomy hikes with Aoibheann Lambe, stone lifting with Andy Downes, a Kerry premier of 'The Reserve', art workshops with Dana Winder and Anita McKeown, VR headsets, music and stargazing

The festival non-for-profit and is led by Caherdaniel Dark Sky Group and Kerry Dark Sky Tourism with a volunteer committee - our main sponsors and supporters include Kerry County Council, Fáilte Ireland, Caherdaniel Dark Sky Group, Kerry Dark Sky Tourism and Creative Communities.
