The delicate white and green blooms emerging from the soil signal fresh beginnings and the start of the annual gardening calendar. These early signs of spring are celebrated across County Carlow with Snowdrop Time, a vibrant programme of garden openings, guided tours, specialist talks and family-friendly experiences running until the end of February 2026.

Each weekend until March 1st Shankill Castle also features a spectacular range of early Spring bulbs and a carpet of snowdrops. There is something for the whole family to enjoy, with a visit to the Secret Fairy Woods.
