The Newpark Marsh Eco-Park is an award-winning game and bird sanctuary, and one of Kilkenny City's most important natural habitats.

Covering an area of 9.7 hectares (23.7 acres), this multi award winning game and bird sanctuary and amenity area is well maintained and offers unique opportunities to view many different species of birds as well as a wide range of fauna. The park has being renovated with the installation of a MUGA and the extension of the footpath network together with the planting of one hundred native semi-mature trees and the overhauling of the dressing rooms.

The Marsh comprises an area of extraordinary plant and wildlife, which is now a major resource for local residents and the city. It is a most important natural reserve with no less than 49 different species of birds identified to date and more than 70 species of plants, trees and shrubs.

The Newpark Fen is a diverse habitat with open water and a rich variety of bird, mammal, plant and insect species. It was designated an area of scientific interest and is recognised as being of local scientific importance. It includes a bird feeding area, wildlife information boards, a 2km pathway and a wheelchair accessible walkway.

Newpark Fen and Eco-Park is located in County Kilkenny, approximately 2km north-east of Kilkenny city, behind the Newpark Hotel.
