Friars Gate Theatre & Arts is the centre of arts in south east Limerick. The aim of this vibrant theatre is to provide the people of Limerick and surrounding counties with access to the best in contemporary art practice, both professional and community, in performing and visual arts.
Friars Gate Theatre & Arts in County Limerick is a 130 seater venue that hosts a wide variety of performances in an intimate atmosphere, with something to suit every taste in entertainment, contemporary drama, Celtic themed plays, traditional Irish music, cabarets, jazz, comedy, even belly dancing.
The Friars Gate Art Gallery is open daily with temporary exhibits of local and other artists.
Friars Gate is host to an extensive community arts programme, including art for adults, drama for children, youth theatre workshops, Irish traditional music classes in tin whistle, flute and violin and Pilates and yoga day classes.
The Friars Gate annual summer camps in drama and creative music making for children take place throughout July and August.
