Limerick Genealogy provides a professional research service for those wishing to learn about their ancestral roots in Limerick city and county.

Limerick Genealogy can comprehensively search for ancestors and produce a detailed report on family history using a variety of genealogical records and a database of over two million records.

The time period which can be searched dates from as early as the seventeenth century to as late as the early years of the twentieth century. Nevertheless, it is from the nineteenth century that they have access to the greatest volume of records including church records of various denominations, civil records of birth, death and marriage and land valuation records while census records date to 1901 and 1911.

Limerick Genealogy is the designated centre of the Irish Family History Foundation for the city and county of Limerick. It was newly founded in 2006 with the aim of re-establishing the service provided by Limerick Ancestry until February 2004. Limerick Genealogy is an independent, not for profit organisation dependant on the support of its clients to sustain the continuance of the service.

Office hours are, Monday to Friday 9.30 to 4.30pm. However it is advisable to make an appointment to meet with the genealogist.
