The Republic of Ireland Walking Football Association (ROIWFA) are to host a festival of Walking Football to take place in Limerick in August. Walking Football is a slower, safer form of the sport, played by older men (50+ years) and women (40+ years).
The inter-provincial tournament, the first of its kind in Ireland, is planned to take place on Saturday, 24th August at the University of Limerick. It will bring together 20+ teams including 3 women's teams (up to 30 women), and the remainder men's teams from the four provinces and Dublin in various age groups (over 50s, over 60s and over 70s).
Spectators are welcome to the event free of charge, which will take place on the 3G all-weather GAA pitch at the University of Limerick, Garraun, Castletroy between 10:30 and 16:50 hours on Saturday 24 August.
