The Fureys Farewell Concert
Longford Town, Co. Longford
7 February 2026
THE FUREYS play their final Longford show on Sat 7th Feb as part of their FAREWELL TOUR. Known for hits like "When You Were Sweet 16", their music inspired generations and brought Irish folk to new audiences worldwide.

After 13 unforgettable shows, THE FUREYS return to County Longford for their final concert there on Saturday 7th February as part of their FAREWELL TOUR. Legends of Irish music, they’re known for hits like "I Will Love You", "When You Were Sweet 16", and "The Green Fields of France". Eddie Furey began his journey in the 1960s folk revival, sharing a flat with Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty—who later wrote "Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway" for him. Their UK chart success helped bring Irish folk to wider audiences, including a 1981 "Top of the Pops" debut.

With songs that evoke joy and sorrow, The Fureys’ music has inspired generations, even teaching Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics his first guitar chords.
