How can pole dancing express identity, challenge norms and rethink what performance art can be? This exhibition explores pole dancing as an art form through sculpture, images, light and sound.

Since its emergence as a fitness trend during the Celtic Tiger era, pole dancing has evolved into a way for people to express themselves and discover new ways of being. Here it is not presented as spectacle or entertainment, but as a practice of creativity, self-expression and discovery. SEX! DEVIANCE! DANGER! is Arlene Caffrey’s first solo exhibition. It draws on twenty years of experience with pole dancing, alongside conversations with pole dancers from across Ireland.
