The Canterbury Tales – Encore Productions

Dundalk, Co. Louth
21 October - 23 October 2026
Twenty strangers meet in a 14th century pub – all pilgrims on the long road to Canterbury. Each tells a story to shorten the road.

Strange, bawdy and wise- these riotous tales are the Carry On Movies of their age. Rich and poor, pious and profane, the cast are the good the bad and the ugly of early English literature – paving the way for the colourful, down to earth normal people we all know from drama, comedy and soap operas today.

Will the thieves cheat death….the Cockerel outwit the fox…the Carpenter’s Wife take a lover or the Bold Knight learn what women really want?

Fill your tankard and let the tales begin!

Wed 21 & Fri 23 Oct at 8pm + Thur 22 Oct at 11am.
