Blacksod Lighthouse is open to visitors for the first time in 150 years. Take a guided tour, climb the tower, and discover the remarkable D Day weather repo rt made here, along with dramatic stories of shipwrecks, rescues and lighthouse life.

Blacksod Lighthouse has stood shining bright over Blacksod Point, County Mayo, for over 150 years. Although the lighthouse keepers have left and it's now fully automated, story keepers have taken over the reins of this great lighthouse.

Guided tours will take you through the visitor centre, bring the lighthouse to life as it was for the keepers and their families, and guide you through the rich history of Ireland’s great lighthouses and aids to navigation. Blacksod Lighthouse is a great opportunity to visit a working lighthouse.

Enjoy a coffee after your tour at the adjacent Coffee Pod and stroll along the working Blacksod Pier.
