February 1 marks Lá Fhéile Bríde or St Brigid’s Day and there are many traditions and customs associated with this feast-day, dedicated to Ireland's patron saint.

St Brigid's Day (and the older Celtic festival of Imbolc) was an important seasonal marker in folk tradition - signifying the start of spring, new life, fertility and growth.

Join a Museum educator to learn how to make your own St. Brigid's Cross using the methods which have been handed down from previous generations.

Sessions at 2pm - 3pm or 3.30pm - 4.30pm

This is a free event. Suitable for all ages. No booking required. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis if required.
