One of the best viewpoints of Achill Island, County Mayo, is from the majestic Minaun Cliffs. From the top, there are panoramic views of Achill, Clare Island in the distance and Keel Strand below.

The Minaun Cliffs, just 8km from Dooega, Achill Island, stand at 466m. They are a popular attraction for visitors who enjoy scenic views and stunning sunsets.

Access to the car park at the top is by a small, steep road used by engineers to access the transmission masts, which are found at the top of the cliffs. At the masts, visitors are treated to lovely views of Achill, with Clare Island in the distance.

If time permits, there is a path that leads further up the cliffs. Highlights include a statue of Mary, funeral stones and the ruins of 19th century dwellings.
