Newport House is an extremely well preserved country mansion which is 200 years old. It is located in Newport County Mayo and provides a perfect base to fish for spring salmon, grilse and sea trout.
Newport House is a fine Georgian house and has enjoyed a colourful history, particularly since the earlier half of this century when it became a famous base for those fishing the great rivers of County Mayo.
Newport House is one of those rare establishments which owns its own river, the Newport River as well as owning the rights to fish on Lough Beltra West. Newport is renowned for its salmon and sea trout and has a reputation for spring salmon.
On both waters, the rule is fly only and open season for salmon is from 20 March to 30 September. Sea trout season runs from mid-June until 30 September.
