Sol Rio Restaurant is situated in the heart of Westport in County Mayo, opposite Matt Molloy's Pub. It is a family friendly restaurant with Portuguese flair. All food is available to eat in or take away.

Sol Rio Restaurant in County Mayo is an award winning restaurant that was established in 1997. It is run by a husband and wife team. Portugal native head chef Jose Barroso and his wife, Westport native Sinéad Lambert Barroso, who runs the front of house. Their son Evan Barroso now also helps with the running of the business.

The Barroso's are committed to a philosophy of quality food sourcing with an emphasis on seasonal, local and artisanal ingredients. Sol Rio is also famous for its pastéis de nata (Portuguese custard tarts), which are widely regarded as some of the best in Ireland.

Sol Rio Restaurant also places an emphasis on catering for a wide variety of dietary requirements including, vegan, coeliac and vegetarian. It is also very proud of its award winning menu for young diners. Choose from tapas, gourmet sandwiches and wraps, pastas, pizzas and homemade desserts. There is a choice of vegan and vegetarian starters and main courses on the menu. There is also a set menu on Sundays. Sol Rio Restaurant has has an extensive selection of fine wines available to accompany a dish of your choice.
