Visit King House Historical & Cultural Centre, a magnificently restored Georgian mansion in Boyle, County Roscommon. It was built in the early 1700s for Sir Henry King, whose family was one of the most powerful and wealthy in Ireland.

Discover the history of King House Historical & Cultural Centre, previously a military barracks for the Connaught Rangers. At the end of the Civil War, the barracks passed into the control of the Irish Free State Army. Following years as a merchant's store, King House was restored to its former glory by Roscommon County Council and is now open to the public as a museum.

Wander through the house at your leisure, encounter historical figures and sound effects while enjoying hands-on family activities. Marvel at the grandeur of the period rooms, see the Boyle Civic Art Collection and explore interactive exhibitions dedicated to the Kingdom of Connacht, the King family and the Connaught Rangers.

Write with a quill and ink, build a brick wall and visit the eerie prison cells in the basement. Plan your trip around one of the musical, dramatic and cultural events that take place at King House Historical & Cultural Centre throughout the year.
