Prospector 1, skippered by Peter Power, is a purpose built, state of the art, 33ft charter angling vessel based in the idyllic harbour of Mullaghmore, County Sligo. Prospector 1 offers fishing in Donegal Bay in the summer months (May to October) and in Dublin Bay, from Howth Harbour, County Dublin, in the winter months (November to May).
Peter Power Deep Sea Angling also offers day trips to Inishmurray Island, nine miles from Mullaghmore and uninhabited since 1948. Innishmurray has particular points of interest like the ancient monastic site along with rich bird life. The weather must be suitable for landing.
The waters of Donegal Bay are deep and clean and offer a huge variety of species of sport fish (34 species). Prospector 1 will either be fishing over reefs, hunting blue shark, or trying to tempt the mighty giant bluefin tuna. Species include coalfish, cod, conger, dab, flounder, gunard (grey, red and tub), herring, John Dory, mackerel, monkfish, mullet, pollock, pouting, ray, skate, smooth hound, tope, whiting, wrasse (ballin and cuckoo).
The skipper, Peter Power, is the owner and skipper of Prospector 1 and he has been a keen angler for over 30 years, ranging from sea angling experience on the east and west coasts of Ireland together with Caribbean and Indian Ocean big game fishing experiences. In addition, Peter has considerable angling experience of river, lake and estuary fishing.
