The Lough Derg Yacht Club in Dromineer, near Nenagh, County Tipperary is famous all over the world in sailing circles, being home to the third oldest yacht club in the world.

The Lough Derg Yacht Club in Dromineer, near Nenagh, Co Tipperary is famous all over the world in sailing circles, being home to the third oldest yacht club in the world.

Lough Derg Yacht Club was founded there in 1835 and has played a central role in promoting the sport all over the lake down through the years.

The club's mission is to promote the life long sport, and art, of sailing to its junior sailors, young adults and senior members, in a safe, structured and responsible environment, whether at a competitive or recreational level, and to encourage a sense of sportsmanship, seamanship and fair play.

Campsite facilities are available with shower block as well as boat mooring facilities upon prior consultation. Other accommodation options are listed on the website. Dromineer village's amenities include a shop, a pub and children's plyground.

Parking is available and the club bar is normally open during events after sailing and in the evenings.
