South Tipperary Arts Centre in Clonmel Town, was founded in 1996 to be a focal point for the arts in Clonmel and County Tipperary. Today, their vision is to be a centre of excellence for the arts in County Tipperary and beyond, bringing the best of Irish and internationally renowned arts practices to Clonmel, enhancing engagement and opportunities for arts practitioners and audiences in the region.

South Tipperary Arts Centre present a range of visual arts exhibitions in their gallery space in Clonmel Town. They also host events such as music, performance, poetry readings and dance. Outreach and education work is integral to their success, with one of the key objectives being to engage with a wide and varied range of audiences. The studio is used for short term exhibitions and screenings, as well as a variety of classes and workshops. It is also a rehearsal space for theatre, dance, music and is available for meetings and seminars.

STAC Chapel was launched in Spring 2023 as an additional space for South Tipperary Arts Centre and allows an expansion in the range of arts programming on offer to audiences. Located on Kickham Plaza, in the former Barracks Chapel, STAC Chapel is a multi use space which will host a diversity of practices and events across visual arts, film, music, dance and theatre, among others. STAC Chapel will also act as a site for experimentation and development through residencies, talks and workshops.

South Tipperary Arts Centre is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and Tipperary County Council.
