The Bastion Gallery is a gift shop in the Left Bank area of Athlone, County Westmeath. It is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Athlone Castle and from Seán's Bar, the oldest Pub in Ireland.
Specialising in handcrafted Irish design gifts and jewellery, you will find a large collection of Irish crafts and products as well as a collection of their own brand of handmade jewellery called Ogham Treasure.
The building is steeped in history. There has been a shop here since 1850, including Kilkelly's Drapery Shop. The great tenor Count John McCormack practised his singing upstairs with his teacher and mentor Michael Kilkelly. The late Michael Jackson visited here while temporarily living at Grouse Lodge recording studios.
A quirky and unusual shop.
