Coolmelagh - Prospect Loop is one of three lovely walks near Bunclody, with beautiful views of Wexford to the south and Wicklow and Carlow to the North.

Prospect Loop trail follows forest roads with a steady climb before it descends towards Ballingate and loops back with good views of the surrounding countryside of Carlow and Wicklow.

This walking trail give walkers an opportunity to enjoy walking among wind turbines, deer spotting and a glimpse of historical standing stones as well as wonderful views of the Clody Valley, the plains of South Leinster including counties Wexford, Carlow and Wicklow. Gibbet Hill (old English name for Hanging Hill) was a place of execution but beautiful views meant that, no matter what your crime, your last sight on earth was heavenly.

Don’t Miss: Windmills and a Marian Year cross at the summit where the ‘Gibbet’ once stood. Views of Wexford, Carlow & Wicklow, the Clody Valley, windmills, standing stones on Croaghan Mountain. All kinds of native wildlife, such as Sika deer, Irish hare, fox, badger, Peregrine falcon and hen harrier raven.
