Craanford Mills, Gorey, County Wexford is an early 17th century heritage site and working museum. It has a restored and operational water wheel. The corn grinding mill was lovingly restored to full working order and was highly recommended in the Henry Ford Conservation Awards in 1996 and also pipped for first prize in the Heritage Category.
For the 21st century visitor, a watermill like the one at the village of Craanford is full of romance and nostalgia. One can imagine farmers three centuries ago bringing their freshly harvested grain to be ground into an important life giving meal.
School tours and groups are welcome.
