The Eugene O’Neill International Festival of Theatre returns to New Ross from 14–18 October 2026, celebrating the Nobel Prize-winning playwright’s Irish heritage through theatre, music and cultural events.

The international programme includes The Unkillable Irishman, O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night performed by Georgia’s Tumanishvili Theatre Company, Lucia Joyce by Spain’s Karlik Danza Teatro and Ah, Wilderness!. There’s also a special concert featuring Zoë Conway and John McIntyre, alongside musicians from Ireland, Spain and Georgia. Scholar panels, heritage experiences and a jazz cruise on the River Barrow complete five days celebrating theatre, culture and New Ross’s transatlantic connections.
