The Irish Baroque Orchestra's annual production of Handel's Messiah is hailed as a master of sacred and secular music. Handel's talent of composing for voice and instrument shines through in Messiah, which Irish audiences first took to their hearts in 1742. This production is led by Peter Whelan, Artistic Director of IBO, with the IBO's own choir.
Whether you are a seasoned aficionado or a curious newcomer, the Irish Baroque Orchestra’s Messiah promises an inspiring musical journey, blending scholarly insight with electrifying live performance.
The Irish Baroque Orchestra is proudly funded by Arts Council Ireland/An Chomhairle Ealaíon, and Messiah is presented in partnership with the National Opera House, Wexford.
