Seal Rescue Ireland, in Courtown, County Wexford, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured and orphaned seal pups from around Ireland. Meet the rescued seal pups and learn all about the rehabilitation process.

Come visit Seal Rescue Ireland (SRI), the only seal rescue centre in Ireland. SRI’s visitor centre, located in Courtown, County Wexford, invites visitors to come meet seal pups while they’re on their road to recovery, take a tour, learn their stories and be inspired to join the efforts in protecting seals in the wild.

Guided tours are available. During the 30 minute tour, learn all about the rescue and rehabilitation process. Enjoy a guided tour of the facility, with the chance to meet adorable seal pups in care and learn their individual stories.

SRI also offer a 1 hour Seal Feed and Enrichment Experience. This experience begins with an educational talk about Ireland's iconic seals and the threats they face in the wild. Then take a behind the scenes tour of the hospital, where visitors get the chance to assist their skilled staff in preparing feeds and other enrichment items to keep their seals happy, healthy, and mentally stimulated while in care. Visitors are then led out to the rehabilitation pools for the chance to feed the seals, watch them dive and compete for fish, and develop the skills they'll need to flourish in the wild.

Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for both of these experiences.

Their Rescuer for A Day experience is a 3 hour experience which begins with an in depth presentation about Ireland’s seals and why they need help, then receive a full behind the scenes tour of the hospital. Afterwards, get your hands dirty working alongside the animal care team. Together, you will clean the pools and kennels, feed the seals, and help with animal care tasks. You will get the opportunity to work up close with seal pups, get to know their stories and personalities, and get great photo opportunities while contributing valuably to their efforts. This experience is only available for ages 10 years and over and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

By booking an experience you are supporting SRI’s life saving work, while getting the amazing opportunity to view these marine mammal patients up close. Please show your support for Ireland’s marine life by going to visit the seals and learning how to get involved.
