Step into Ireland’s past at Johnstown Castle on Saturday 28th February for a compelling illustrated talk by Mylo Miller, The Great Irish Famine. Developed alongside the Changing Farming Fortunes exhibition, this engaging educational talk traces Ireland’s agricultural story from the devastation of the Famine to the lasting influence of Teagasc on modern farming practices.
Through vivid research and storytelling, the talk explores why the poorest communities suffered most, using the Wexford Workhouse to reveal local hardship and reflecting on the role of landlord Hamilton Knox Grogan Morgan.
The morning event concludes with a short guided tour (optional) to the exhibition and its legacy of resilience and change.
