In the small fishing village of Duncannon in southwest County Wexford one will find The Strand Tavern. The menu is varied and good value and includes the finest fresh seafood, and for non-seafood lovers there is a good selection of steaks, chicken and lamb to choose from. Healthy options are available for children on the bar food menu. Homemade desserts and breads are baked daily.
The bar counter and shelving is very unique as it is taken from the wreckage of The Alfred D. Snow, a ship which was washed ashore on Duncannon strand in 1888.
There is a traditional Irish music session every Thursday night throughout the year, with live music most Saturday nights. All major sporting events can be viewed on the big screen in the lounge or on the plasma screen in the bar.
