Welcome to the Avoca Painting School. Receive professional tuition in acrylic and oil painting and drawing from highly experienced, practicing artist Rod Coyne. We offer outdoor painting workshops based in the stunning Wicklow Mountains.

Avoca Painting School is based at The Avoca Studio Gallery, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, andrun by Rod and Anja Coyne. providing studio art classes, outdoor painting workshops, demonstrations and painting vacations with an informal atmosphere in the “Garden of Ireland”. Our services are designed for visiting tourists as much as locally based people with a creative urge. The Avoca Painting School can also provide tuition and demonstration at your art group’s location.

Outdoor painting workshop itinerary:

Meeting at a scenic Wicklow location Rod Coyne will provide a drawing/painting demonstration as introduction before the group start their own art works. After a lunch break there will be a second demonstration before the group continue their afternoons painting. The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners to experienced painters. It is an ideal chance for those who have dabbled and would like to learn a few more techniques. While painting everyone will be supported with tips and techniques appropriate to their level in a friendly environment. At the end of the workshop everyone has a picture to take home.

What’s included?

Painting demonstration, drawing tuition and guidance by experienced and practicing artist. Spectacular views of the beautiful Wicklow mountains/coastline.

Crating and shipping of finished art works can be arranged at a surcharge Materials available on request (advanced booking necessary).
