Loughdan House is situated in the Wicklow Mountains on an eighty-acre hill farm, overlooking Lough Dan, the largest natural lake on the east coast of Ireland. Beside The Wicklow Way, it is the perfect location for a walking holiday, whether for a short one or two day break or for a much longer Holiday.
With all the comforts you would expect from your accommodation including Laundry facilities, drying room, free Wi-Fi, all rooms en-suite and a heart-warming open fire in the evening.
Loughdan House is the perfect base for your walking holiday in Ireland, it is located 300 metres up in the mountains and enjoying spectacular views of nature, lakes and landscapes. Delicious and exciting home-cooked meals, serving all locally produced meats and vegetables, game from the mountain and fish from the lakes and rivers, are served each evening at a time to suit you. They also provide trips to a variety of excellent pubs and entertainment in the evenings.
Loughdan House Adventure Tours fully organise your walking holiday which, whether guided or self-guided, caters for everything you could possibly need for a most pleasant and refreshing break. This includes all transport, accommodation, evening meals and maps or a guide for all the walks. If the legs are feeling weary the option of a free day or a day sight-seeing is also available.
Your host, Sean Byrne, will be your guide on most organised walks, which range from seven to twenty kilometers, depending on your level of fitness. During your holiday, you will witness spectacular scenery, listen to exciting stories about the area and people who once lived here and perhaps still live here, above all we hope you will enjoy the experience and perhaps look forward to returning.
