The Dolmen Centre in Naran, County Donegal is a sustainable ecocentre with an environmentally friendly construction that caters for the community and tourism by facilitating different activities and amenities in the local area.

The Dolmen Centre in Naran, County Donegal is located in an unspoiled natural environment with great scenic beauty. The eco-tourism centre was built by the community for the commmunity and visitors alike and was the first green energy complex in the Republic of Ireland using renewable energy systems.

The facilities include a field studies room showing how the landscape was moulded, and provides information on the many historical sites in the area including the dolmen, ring-fort and other old burial sites.

Other facilities include a well-equipped gym sauna, coffee dock, multifunctional hall and playground. The centre is open for educational courses, social activities, and night classes and is a local culture, craft centre and art gallery.

The facility if fully wheelchair-accessible.

Tips from locals

You can walk to Kilclooney Dolmen from here but you will need sturdy, waterproof footwear as the ground is uneven and boggy.
