Built in the early 19th Century, Lough Bishop provides unique country house bed and breakfast accommodation owing to its wonderful location in the middle of a working organic farm.

Following extensive renovation this attractive Georgian country farmhouse offers its guests luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation, peaceful surroundings and fine food much of which comes from their own farm, garden and orchard.

They offer their bed and breakfast guests a choice of family, double or single room accommodation. Each room is spacious with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. All the bedrooms are ensuite with power showers and the family room also has a bath. A travel cot is available free of charge.

Breakfast is freshly prepared for each party: eggs from the free range hens, homemade bread, homemade Seville orange marmalade and plum jam from the orchard. They also have their own apple juice, pressed from home grown apples in late October/November.

There are a number of good restaurants in the area, however if you would like to eat in, Helen is well known for her culinary skills and evening meals are no exception. Dinner is served in the dining room where guests all sit around the dining table with their hosts. There is a set menu and dinner must be booked in advance.

Situated in the yard behind the main house is Lough Bishop Self Catering Cottage, a one bedroom unit that allows guests to enjoy the glorious Westmeath countryside. The kitchen, dining and living area are open-plan and very spacious, fully equipped and tastefully furnished. The Cottage can also be booked on a bed and breakfast basis.

As part of the green Hospitality Programme, Lough Bishop House has recently been awarded the European Eco- Label.
