Tir na hÓige is situated right in the centre of Easkey, County Sligo. Tir na hÓige is a within walking distance from shops, pubs, eateries and the Heritage Centre. We are situated on the Wild Atlantic Way with a discovery point along the shore.

Tir na hOige Park is situated in an area of natural outstanding beauty. Easkey is a peaceful and quiet village which must be seen to appercaite the beauty of County Sligo.

The peaceful and tranquil village of Easkey takes its name from the very popular Salmon Fishing River. It boasts two

reef breaks for surfing. There are beautiful walks along

the fossilised shoreline of the Atlantic Coast and it also boasts a 12th century castle at the mouth of the river. For the more energetic there is a bicycle hire service or gym if you wish to exercise indoors.

O'Dowd Castle was built in 1207, the castle was home to the O'Dowd chieftains of the barony of Tireragh, having been originally built for Oliver McDonnell. Although much of the original structure has been lost over time, the main body of the castle remains. Situated adjacent to Easkey pier, the 63 feet high castle is a dominant landmark and the highest part is known as the Sailor's Bed.
