Killykeen Forest Park is a picturesque forest park wrapped around the idyllic Lough Oughter lake system and boasting a network of charming woodland walking routes.

Revel in County Cavan’s famed lakeland scenery on a 3km forest loop by tranquil Lough Oughter. Nestled between Killeshandra and Cavan Town, the Killykeen Forest Park Nature Trail is an easy, family-friendly route and takes one hour to complete.

Following lush forest paths, you’ll spot tree species like Norway and Sitka Spruce, Ash, Oak and Beech and of course, stunning lakeshore views.

In addition to Killykeen Forest Park’s multi-access walking trails and paths, you’ll also find convenient picnic areas, a swimming area and a family cycle trail too.
