Director Francis Ford Coppola returned to the original source of the Dracula myth and from that gothic romance, he created a 90s vampire classic. It follows the tortured journey of the Transylvanian Prince (Gary Oldman) as he moves from Eastern Europe to 19th century London in search of his long-lost love Elisabeta, who is reincarnated as the beautiful Mina (Winona Ryder). Coppola’s version of the Dracula tale is lavish, luscious and audacious with Oldman delivering what could be the definitive performance of the prince of darkness while the fabulous cast also includes Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, Richard E. Grant, Sadie Frost and Monica Bellucci.
