Located in Roaringwater Bay, Heir Island, or as it sometimes referred to, Hare Island, is one of the most accessible and sheltered of the Carberry's Hundred Isles. Once you've arrived, take time to truly appreciate the panoramic views of Sherkin Island, Care Clear, the Calf Islands, the East and West Skeams, as well as Mount Gabriel in the north.
Walk or cycle the length of the island and discover the extensive marshland at the centre of the island which hosts a vibrant reed bed of over 200 varieties of wild flowers and is home to many unusual birds.
Or take to the sheltered bays and sandy beaches for a spot of sailing, windsurfing, swimming, or diving.
Take the ferry to the island from Cunnamore Pier.
