Macroom Buffalo Farm is owned and run by Johnny and Geraldine Lynch, who purchased 31 water buffalo from Italy in 2009, introducing the first herd of buffalo to Ireland. Now with a herd of over 150 in Kilnamartyra and Macroom in County Cork, these grass fed animals are thriving in the Irish climate.
Take a tour with farm guide Dorothy O’Tuama. Get up close and personal with the water buffalo and have the opportunity to pet the baby buffalo. Find out how mozzarella is made with an audio visual presentation in the cheese dairy. Gain insights into the Lynch family heritage and sustainable farming.
