Eugene Quinlan of Quinlan Coopering Irish Whiskey Blending Barrel, is a 7th generation master cooper, who offer demonstrations in the Cobh Heritage Centre in County Cork. The Quinlan's have worked with both distilleries and breweries for many years supplying oak barrels which are used for ageing Irish Whiskey.

Eugene Quinlan is one of the remaining Irish independent master cooper that demonstrates the craft of coopering.

Eugene offers master cooper demonstrations on the Skills of Coopering in the Cobh Heritage Centre. View a demonstration of coopering, and take photos with the master cooper. His presentation involves talks about the wood, barrels, tools and craft of coopering. Eugene details the benefits that coopering had in local village work, agriculture, and for ships transporting cargo around the world up until the 1950s. Eugene also talks about the distilleries that he continues to be associated with today.

A whiskey tasting event at a nearby venue can also be purchased as an additional option when booking the demonstration. The demonstrations take place Monday to Friday mornings. To learn more, telephone or check his Facebook page to book a place.
