West Cork Charters is based on the Wild Atlantic Way and offers boat angling and wildlife tours from the village of Courtmacsherry in County Cork.

West Cork Charters operates the Silver Dawn, a 60 mile offshore licensed charter boat, in the waters of the West Cork coast. They offer a wide variety of fishing within a close range of Courtmacsherry, including mackerel, pollock, cod, ling, wrasse, whiting, pouting, coalfish, bull huss and conger with many more species often added to the catch. It is not necessary to head too far offshore before fish are encountered.

Offshore trips, within 10 miles of Courtmacsherry, offer shark fishing with a very strong chance of encountering blue sharks and an increasing chance of bringing a porbeagle shark to the boat. Recent years have seen mako sharks and thresher sharks being caught, and giant bluefin tuna have also stayed close to shore for several weeks in the autumn and winter months. As one of the 15 nationally licensed boats taking part in the bluefin tuna tagging programme, West Cork Charters are able to offer trips to tag and release bluefin tuna.

Also on offer are wildlife sea safaris out along the stunning coastline and further offshore to look for whales, dolphins, sunfish and huge basking sharks. There is no guarantee at any time of year that these will be seen, but a wide variety of birdlife can always be viewed and admired.
