The Buncrana shore-path is a traffic free walk which follows the shoreline of Lough Swilly between Buncrana and Stragill Strand. It is gently undulating path which passes quiet beaches, old forts and a number of sites of historical interest. Wildlife is abundant and the views in all directions are superb.
Buncrana Coastal Walk is easy and relatively level for the whole route, although access to Stragill Strand at its southern end requires crossing a rough area of large stones and boulders.
The sea views across Lough Swilly are particularly impressive.
